Our God made bodies

God did not create anything that was wrong. In fact his creation is so complex and perfect in its relationship between the species, the world we live and how we evolved we can only classify it as a miracle.

When we realize that God created us in His own image and that He loves us unconditionally, then I know the body He created for us to inhabit while on earth is quite exquisite. I realized many years ago as a young Physical Therapist working with patients who had major physical problems and injuries, just how powerful was the body. I was struck over and over how the body would always seek to return to its normal status. I realized even then that my main job was to assist the body in its natural pathway back to normal function.

I have observed this same phenomenon with other species, specifically dogs. Much of Eastern Medicine is based on this fact i.e. the body is always seeking its normal point, no matter what the circumstances or specifics of the problem.

Like everything else here on earth, there are rules and relationships that we must discover and observe, but God gave us the brains and ability to easily do these things. Reference our ability to travel in space, to study the microscopic world and to research and formulate tremendous practices in medicine and health to name just a very few. God could have done all this for us, but He left this for our excellent brains to do or not do as the case may be. We have free choices and that includes accepting him as our savior and creator. The body is one of the greatest miracles in God’s great creation. Genesis 26 through 30 tells us clearly what God intended for our bodies that he created.

26     Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

27     So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

28     Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

29     Then God said, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.

30     And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened.[1]

I’ll let others debate the vegan VS meat issues elsewhere. It appears, as you will see later, there are more offenders to the body in the strictly contemporary envisioned vegan diet than in those who eat meat along with the vegetables, fruits and nuts that God provided. This is clearly noted in Genesis 29. There is also a clue in Genesis 30 for what God provided for the animals to eat; all of which He created in his masterful symbiotic world. In Our Fathers diet that I have coined as the Indigenous Therapeutic (IT) lifestyle one eats meat if one wishes or not. There are plenty of foods available to most of us to satiate the body that God created and in which we occupy here on his good earth.

Paleontologists and anthropologists feel that early man, i.e. indigenous biblical man ate equal parts omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids in its diet. [2]

History has shown us that mankind, left to his own devices, finds a way to adulterate every instance of his existence. The food and diet we eat is a great example of this fact. As you study and become familiar with the intended way of nourishing your body, you will see some principles. In its simplest form, God intended for our bodies to be nourished from the earth he created. Some believe that the invention of cooking changed the diet and overall harmed it. It appears to me that may have some relevant examples but not wholly accurate to the subject. Much of our nourishment from animals is very good for the body and mostly needs cooking or curing in order to be eatable in a healthy state. Some really great foods are the flesh of fish, some fowl and to a lesser extent some other meats. Most say that processed food is not good, but there are examples of processed food that may be better for the body than natural food. Olive oil butter or margarine Vs butter is a good example. There are others.

Generally, dairy, grains, and some beans are not so good. I suspect that the dairy is suitable for infants. We know our digestive system seems to modify to be less able to handle dairy as the body matures. Even though eggs are not the best foods because of the yolk, its harmful properties can easily be counteracted by accompanying foods. The great complete protein and nutrients that eggs give our body is desirable, eaten correctly. The yolk is an essential part of that great food.

Quote from internet

There is a growing understanding how the foods we eat can improve inflammation or even make inflammation worse. Inflammation can raise your risk for heart disease, diabetes, other chronic diseases and make you miserable during allergy season. Many people with inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia will feel better if they choose an anti inflammatory diet. Could you feel better on an anti inflammatory diet?

.

Just to quote the internet is foolish, but this one gets pretty close. A diet that promotes the production of anti inflammatory Prostaglandins is positive and mostly healthy. One must always check an reliable objective source and Monica Reinagel's book footnoted below is "the source" as far as I am concerned. Too much of the rest of the pronouncements found are simply quickly rehashed info and they always fall into the old stereotypes. Many are fundamentally wrong. For example, blueberrys; are they good? Maybe, depending on how they are eaten, but by themselves they are inflammatory. Powerful antioxidant? Yes! Inflammatory? Yes? Use them appropriately in your diet that you plan well.

Simply put it’s not so difficult to know what God intended our bodies to ingest for nourishment and good health. There is no doubt that God intends us to nourish our bodies correctly and since God is perfect our bodies were made perfect as to His plan. The problems created in our bodies are attributable to our not eating correctly. I suspect this nourishment was the early food available to early man i.e. the caveman and biblical man. We know that cooking changed the way we eat and is likely the first real departure from how God intended our bodies to be nourished.  We could go food by food if we wish and see if it was available to early man, but some of that is pure speculation. The more rational approach is, how do the foods we eat interact with the body?

The Inflammation Factor (IF)

A clear signal from the body that foods are not suitable to be consumed is if they cause inflammation in the body. This is something that can be quantified and measured. The effects of foods in the body can be monitored by current technology. These quantification measures show us what is good for the body. There will be endless debate on some areas and combination of foods that can be reasonably consumed, but if one eats a diet that is anti inflammatory, the body will react positively and in the manner it was made to respond to food. There are some people that believe that a strong anti inflammatory diet will aid and stimulate the body to correct inflammatory problems it has encountered. This includes the aftermath of ingesting inflammatory foods or not.

What is clear is our contemporary diet is very bad for the body. Even the good diets are mostly inflammatory and even these diets are believed to be "eating right", most of them are simply damaging the body. The missing link in our knowledge and ability to combat this problem from our contemporary diet is the recent quantification of the inflammatory value of many foods. This quantification measure is termed the Inflammatory Factor (IF) of foods. This is a rating system that allows us to know what the net value of these foods is from a inflammatory perspective. This combined with the ability to measure the amount of inflammation in the body are powerful tools recently at our disposal.

The problem:

The current problem is this so important information is not recognized by very many people who profess to know what our bodies need for good nutrition. To me this IF rating system, essentially helps us to know what God intended our bodies to ingest for good health. It likely is not perfect, as anything man makes is generally flawed at some level. To me this makes the difference in our ability to understand and finally have any hope of effectively combating major problems in our contemporary society like obesity.
